205 Meeting St Charleston, Coastal South Carolina, South Carolina, United States, 29401, 843-722-4900

We were invited to our friend Adam's wedding .. he had moved down to Charleston, SC from NYC and had met a lovely lady named Quyen. It was a wonderful long weekend ... no cars, no hassles, everything in close proximity. The wedding and rehearsal dinner for all out of town guests (and there were many) was being held at Charleton Place hotel so naturally we chose to stay there ... a bit pricey but well worth it all things considered. It was really nice. We attended the rehearsal dinner the 1st ...

While I enjoy traveling throughout the sea islands, including to Hilton Head and Kiawah Islands in South Carolina, Tybee, Jekyll, and St. Simons Islands in Georgia, and Amelia Island, Florida, Kiawah is my former home and the current home of my family so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Its peaceful beauty and ...
Kiawah Island, South Carolina, United States nicsivToday we went to Charleston, We didn't make it there until almost 9:30, So we missed all the haunted jail tours that we wanted to go on. We did go to a really nice jazz club, with good music and cheap drinks.. Not to mention a really nice ...
Charleston, South Carolina, United States thedoyles... as it was too far to walk and there were no buses. The taxi driver was a nice guy, told me abit about the area then he said 'oh but why you staying in the ghetto?' To which i thought oh god here we go again! There were no hostels available and this was the only place i could find for a reasonable price, it was $32 a night, but it was a motel, the sort of place seedy guys rent by the hour apparently! But i had my own room with a king sized bed in, tele etc, which was very comfy. Sure ...
Charleston, South Carolina, United States edwardallin... we also grabbed a quick little mid afternoon cocktail at the Peir 14 Bar then headed down the beach. Nic did some swimming with Dolphins swimming no less than 50 yards away from him pretty cool if you ask me. While he swam I walked to shores collecting some shells for my mom. After that we decided to soak up some of this amazing warm weather ...
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, United States nicandjessicaLeaving Columbia heading toward Myrtle Beach, I drove past homes with horse pastures, and many fields of a crop I didn’t know. I stopped and checked. Butter-beans I think. Short, fat bushes with small pods swollen with round objects inside. In a small town there was a small new subdivision with all the homes built on stilts, garage underneath. Hum!

I anticipated running into the surf at Myrtle Beach and watching Charlie ...

Well dive in” mi italiano tells me, after taking one look at the ocean. Okay, the Atlantic is nothing in comparison to the Mediterranean…but I honestly don’t get why people go crazy of Folly or other typical South Carolina beaches.

I repeat, Charleston was nice except for local disputes, but you can’t expect people to change over a year.
Charleston, South Carolina, United States erinkoval... ago as a result of hurricanes and prevailing winds. It was a sacred spot for the native peoples of the region and early sailors used it as a landmark when navigating the sandbars in the Cape Fear River. Soldiers used it as a natural 'fort' during the American Revolution. It was a ferry landing spot and terminus for a short open car railway that transported early Wilmington residents to the beach on the other side ...
Charleston, South Carolina, United States momaduncToday we spent the day in Charlston with our friends the Wojo's. Toni and I both agreed that this was one of the most, if not the most beautiful city we have ever seen. We have fallen in love with the south and we will have a hard time leaving. The culture and history here is so rich, but that is only part of the attraction to the ...
Charleston, South Carolina, United States ggibbofam... as once again we fought the tide, but were aided by the wind for the entire day. Much of today's run was spent going down the Waccamaw River. It is quite lovely with swamps, marshes, endless deep creeks and dense forests. On both banks are abandoned rice fields with now unused canals overhung by live oaks draped with long strands of Spanish moss. It was very different from anything we had cruised through before. Late in the afternoon we anchored off the main channel in ...
