At the beginning of the red-blue state divide
... to the Battery area. So much renovation of amazing stately homes. Saw bumper sticker, Gut Fish, not Houses.
From Bay St. we could see Fort Sumter way in the distance. We passed on the shuttle boat to take us out there, but we visited the Museum. So much history.
Tomorrow we plan to make the 15 minute drive to Folly Beach, hoping to capture a Pat Conroy feeling.

from “upcountry South Carolina” were here last week to go
shrimping. They did well by all accounts, but their real story was
the 1100 pound alligator the took from Lake Moultrie in late October.
After three years of trying to get their permit, they snagged a
monster with a large treble hook and a hand line! Once it was brought
to the surface, they shot it and tied it along side there ...
End of the cruise
... we had the Captains farewell party and crew show. Also spent our last dinner with Rudy and Shirley. We are so happy they were on this cruise too. Had such a great time with them and really look forward to more adventures in the future. We said our goodbyes tonight (a bit early) because first thing tomorrow we hit the ground running in NYC.
