Having said that it is actually a strikingly beautiful building dominated by a wonderfully grand double helix stair case inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

We enjoyed the cycle in the grounds and back to St Dye some 8km away.

Camping for free in a magical place. Just like being at home but surrounded by 2000 years of history. Biking is a delight on dedicated roads, way safer and superior often to the main road. A swim was great and these camp sites have very few bugs ...

... everything just flashed by! Still lovely though.

Made all our connections, with an hour break in Tours, so we went out for a short walk. From what we did see, the best place was the railway station, which was very ornate.

Back to Bayeux and making dinner, even though I wondered if I had forgotten how to cook (steak, vegetables and salad!) then off to bed!
