So it was officially the day we were venturing into the USA. It felt like the next step in our journey and a new chapter. We decided to cross the St Stephens border but were sad to discover the chocolate store that everyone told us about was closed. It was Thanksgiving Monday so we figured it would be but we had been hopeful. Tummies empty we went to the border crossing. It was pretty ...

... the view would be nice from the top. The road to the peak is very windy full of hair pin turns and pretty steep. We debated over whether we should take Sparky up there. Ted is worried about the motor mounts and in the end we decided to not over work our little buddy by pushing him too hard. We still have a long way to go. The view would have been nice but this leaves time to see Bar Harbor.

At this point everyone was getting quiet and tired, so we stopped into the Coffee Hound (http://www.yelp.com/biz/coffee-hound-b ar-harbor) for a pick-me-up and to rest our feet. Energy restored, we headed to Bar Harbor Popcorn (Susan and I are both wild over popcorn) to sample the ...

... afternoon class V rapids we were about to embark on. We met Brian, our guide, who definitely looked perpetually high. Reassuring... We also realized our boat was only going to have 6 people in it, the smallest by at least 2 of all of the groups. That meant, less man-power and a high probability that we would flip. We were then bussed again to the drop off at the hydroelectric dam and after about a 5 minute pep-talk on how horrifying this trip was going to be, we ...

... several hours later ... Mark and I walked to dinner at Sea Dogs and played some trivia. We both won a round (chasing out our arch-nemesis, Walmor) and I even was victorious in guessing at the Sci Fi round. There were very drunk Spaniards visiting (probably for the music festival but they failed to get the memo that it was canceled) who were aggressively surrounding our table, so we finally headed home. At least the rain is gone and there's a little Scandal left to watch.
