... back and forth to the bar from the pool. Aside from that though it was a gorgeous spot and had some great restaurants along the boardwalk and beaches to check out. After that we drove up the coast to Playa de San Juan and then Puerto Santiago for a great late lunch. On the way home we stopped at Los Cristianos for a look around but it seemed to just be the same as Playa de las Americas but circa 1976. On Monday we booked ourselves into the cheapest accommodation we could find ...

Up at 07.30 to pack and clear the flat, luckily no rush as we are on the midday ferry so we eventually leave at 09.50. It's been a great week, Arrive in San Sebastián 10.35 return hire car and have coffee in the sun by the port before the 12.00 ferry that arrives in Los Cristianos at 13.00. Now the worst bit walking, dragging ...

Nice lunch in Bar Sonia then onto El Cercado and Las Hayas before retuning home. After a cuppa ...

      North Island Trip

A travel blog entry by valfinucane on Jan 05, 2014

Another sunny day and we leave by at 10.00 to tour the very different rugged north of the island. We drive across to Hermigua but do not stop in the town but at the coastal miradors and arrive in the pretty cobbled town of Agula. It's not sunny here until 23rd February as the town is dwarfed by cliffs that hide the sun until then. We lunch in old school before continuing the very scenic drive to Vallehermoso. We take an out of town walk to the reservoir with great views of the ...

      Playa Santiago, football

A travel blog entry by valfinucane on Jan 04, 2014

Another sunny morning so breakfast on the terrace before wandering down into Playa Santiago to see a local football match. It turns out to be fun with around 50 locals, surprisingly half women who give the linesman stick when he gives decision against the home team. It's a small ground so all very close, quite intimidating for him but fun for us to watch. Santiago are bottom of ...
