... hear out here is the occasional moo of the cows in the pasture across the road from us. The short ride was very beautiful. The smoke cleared out quick once we were stopped and we looked for the source of the problem, but never could determine what happened. Back from our trip to Africa and Switzerland and a little warmer weather. One of the things we enjoy doing while here in Llano is paddling on the Llano river. We have spent many an early morning watching the sun rise over the river and enjoying the birds and other wildlife we may happen upon.

First stop we checked out the WW2 planes and got to see them drag one out and start it up... Fun Times. Then we went to a pre-civil war army fort and the gentleman running the place made sure we knew it was called the "war of northern oppresion"!! Finally we were all packed up and ready to go. The packing, as usual, took longer than we ever anticipate and we were finally on the road by 7 pm and planned to camp at San Angelo State Park.

We have found that it takes us 12 to 16 hours to get to Santa Fe depending on the route and how many rest stops. We like to break the drive up into two days and camp one night along the way.
