... fun at all!" Thanks for the observation, dude. Many other cars pulled up and just about everyone had some little remark about how what I was doing was hard or how they'd never want to be in my place. What a contrast to my last interaction with people. As I was finishing up repacking, I heard one last "you look like you're having no fun at all" from the first man as he drove away. Oh man ...

... loud enough for me to hear, "probably will always be my favorite thing on this trip..."
Me: this morning when we left camp in MO at 4:22am about an hour later Rob said, "I just had a horrible thought, did you see Ryan before we left? Christina was on the phone getting updates on our cat Simon. He seems to be doing better but he's been relocated to Grandma's apartment for the month in order for his joint to heal. Simon also really likes to be around people and it wasn't working too well with him closed up in our room.

Woke up to blue skies but still freezing temps. There had been more snow through the night but only a light covering on the car. Checked the I-80 status on the lobby PC which said ( thankfully ) that it was open. Hastily gobbled our hot brekky in order to get on the road before they decided to close it again. The I-80 was chock full of semi trailers wanting to get through. The snow ploughs were going up and down and everyone was ...
