    Nanshan Temple and Canal Trip

A travel blog entry by caroline63 on Nov 01, 2015

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

... far more attractions than we imagined.

We came out and the taxi drivers started haggling over prices, but then I saw the No 88 bus which I knew went back to town so we hopped on that. We went to the Blue Frog for supper and saw Maumo and Hebe, the lovely manager, and then some of the teachers from Wuxi No 1 came in: Clive, Dennis and Arun so we had a few drinks and chatted to them. A really lovely day.

A travel blog entry by determined34 on Jun 26, 2014

After the bumpy flight from Sydney to ChangZhou, we landed to 35 degrees, humidity level, don't laugh - I have taken off my leggings and wearing my flats without sockets - fashion plus!!! Not so luxurious surroundings here - Qantas does not have a code share lounge. We are sitting in Yeasun Coffee House. With very expensive coffee and dodgy ...

... with one another. We experienced something great after lunch, a two hour break. Since students are up so early and finish so late, they get a break to sleep or rest. I know that we all took advantage of this siesta. The second half of the day started with a Music class and then to History class. The last class that we participated in was art class. The teacher instructed us on how to pain Chinese flowers using water ...
