... a recollection of decaying old buildings, a busy port area and construction but nothing that stood out in my mind as holding much "charm". In fact, we did a Princess shore excursion to the Amalfi Coast and the guide commented about Naples not looking so nice but on our way back at dusk and subsequently night, the city was lit up like a Christmas tree and the guide commented that at night, Naples has charm.

... as I stood on the balcony of the Hotel Una today, which also overlooked Piazza Mancini - the market was gone, converted into a parkade. People weren't throwing garbage from the balconies above, and while there was still excessive litter in the street, at least there wasn't piles of garbage bags everywhere. Has Naples really changed? ... a big archway made by a rock just off the edge of the
island (the lovers arch) and then a few of us in the group jumped
onto another small boat, where you could see the blue grotto for 12
euro, and swim illegally for an extra 5. I paid the extra to jump out
of the boat, and the small boat had to pass under a 1 metre clearing
