... tiny waves so not much luck. Almost stood up on a couple but never quite got it. Went back to his place and had a drink before I took off. Went back to Jenicas for a bit. Jesse was playing the paino at church so I went and checked it out. Not my scene, but good music and really nice people. Back to jesses for a short sleep before the big hike.<br>

On the Gold Coast

... relaxing. I'm somewhat over my jet lag but I still feel a little off. We're planning a few more longer day trips for the remainder of my time here. One of them includes this boat ride to this island where we get to feed dolphins! I'm super pumped.. haha. So that's what I've been up to. Would love to hear from you all.. drop me an e-mail, comment on my guestbook or perhaps send a facebook message. Ahh. you gotta love technology. Talk soon. Missing you all! Love, Caroline xo

The Strangeness of Surfers Paradise

... though, was one of the nicest I'd seen in Australia, just a pity it would be chockablock most of the time! Like any big holiday resort, you can be as sneery as you like about how overdeveloped it is, and how commercial and touristy, but I'd guess it'd be great fun for a holiday, as the nightlife is famed throughout oz, and the beach directly on your doorstep. Probably wouldn't be my ...

Day 4

Today I woke up reasonably early and decided to get ready before breafast. When Shawna woke up the two of us headed down for cornflakes. When we had finished eating, Gabriella asked if we would like to go on a walk with her. We said yes so Celeste and I headed up to clean our teeth and get Shawna and Kodi ready to come with us. We left the apartment at 8.30 and headed left down the beach. I started the walk by pushing Shawna and Kodi in the pram as they are too ...

Melbourne Cup Day, The Killers & Dream World!

... Carpe Diem and all that. After the gig we headed back to the bar to chill out for a bit and then jumped in a cab home. It was 12.30am by the time we got back and we were all shattered so we split and went to our own places. Stef and I crept in as Helen was asleep on the sofa and got into bed, giggling and making up about how Brendan Flowers had definitely spotted us in the crowd and clearly he wanted to marry us...! Saturday (10/11/07) we were up early to get ready to head ...

Surfers Paradise, we came, we saw, we surfed.

Family History

... that only opened 10 days ago. Around 2PM, we decide there wasn't much more we could do at the Archives. By this time we were starving. We decided to head back to the city, but as we got closer to the train station we noticed the train pull away. We asked someone that just got off the train if they could recommend somewhere we could eat and what does he say "McDonald's". We had no interest in eating there, so ...

... aside from the amazing scenery I've heard about - is skydiving!! They have the highest skydiving heights there... 14,000 feet!!! Now I just have to psyche myself up for it, considering my fear of heights and hatred of flying. Of course not everyone is as excited as I am: Stanz: I can't think of anything that would increase my stress factors more  than you skydiving. Love, Guppy ...but we'll see.

Ballina - Surfer's Paradise

... of nights, but a quick explore of the hostel and town was enough to convince us that one night would be plenty. That evening we headed to a nearby internet cafe and finally managed to find one that had a printer, so we could finally print off our Kenyan visa application forms. We then stocked up with some snack food before locking ourselves into our room for the night, keen to get our Surfer's Paradise experience over as quickly as possible.
