... aimless day in mysore (my sore what?? did you fall over??says ems in an email), took another room somewhere, still feeling lonely and aimless, so i picked up an indian-made copy of harry potter 5 which was a surprisingly good comfort. scouring my emails for some trace of chukki, i found her phone number, so i bought a sim card and called her, and jumped on a 5 hour bus to meet her.

Our two days in Calicut were spent hopping between shopping malls as we couldn't quite bare the heat outside, drinking many ice coffees and visiting the local beach. Off the tourist trail, we again attracted a lot of attention. On Calicut beach I was swamped by the locals who wanted to know my "good name" and where I was "coming from?"
