... the Chinese Art community is alive and well, producing many excellent works of art. But even if Art isn't your thing the trail along the coast of Qingdao should be near the top of the list. It begins in Old Town and meanders over 27 km's to the end of Shilaoren beach in distant Laoshan.



After many days of touring most of Tsingdao I will say this....

... misty which was a bit of a pity as the costal path no doubt would have been a wonderful walk. The path links a number of sandy beaches, parks and tourist sites and runs for a good few kilometres, so you could easily spend half a day walking along it. Maybe I will come back again in the summer one day, though the locals warn that in the summer when the weather is nice the place gets packed out from beijingers escaping ...

Is the first day of the month long trip and I'm writing from this train from Hohhot to Tsingtao in China. ... We managed to drive up a neighborhood street where my driver parked the van in yet another construction site. After a couple of false starts, we managed to find a rocked trail leading near a local dam. We followed the trail around the edge until we found the entrance to Jiguang Cave.
