... bonus of giving us a little more room on the train, the locals avoiding our wet clothes. The train system here is pretty clever – your journey is programmed onto a plastic 'coin’, which you blip to get onto the platform. At the end of your journey, you simply post your coin into the barrier to exit. No paper waste, no rubbish. Recycling genious :-) We all have hot showers when we get back and order room service for dinner. Hopefully the weather will improve ...

We parked our bags at the hotel foyer for the day and jumped on the Hop On Hop Off bus for a tour around KL, with our first hop off being the highly popular KL Bird Park in the "Green Belt" area of town. No let down whatsoever at the Bird Park, big huge place with a great layout and array of birds, many in large free fly areas. Bens favourite part of that was the displays of huge disgusting beetles on the wall at the end, has made me a bit scared of our rainforest stay as some of the big ones were from Malaysia!! ... Murugan apparently - again from the guide book not the tour guide!) then just behind you notice the 272 steps up to the main cave!! The main cave is about 100 metres high and holds statues of different Hindu gods - it was a really impressive sight and worth the very tiring walk up and down the steps and the monkey encounters - they are all over the place when you get to the top, running their beady eyes over everyone's bag, camera and glasses but we managed to steer clear of ...
