... fast food fish shop. Then he drove me back to the hostel and I got all my stuff together as I was leaving at 9am the next day to go to Punta del Diablo. Annoyingly I bought food in punta del este because they have a bigger supermarket but I left it on the bus! I was quite tired and I forgot that I had put it in the bit above the seats. Anyway it's a pain because I was looking forward to eating it but better than leaving something ...

Around 7:30 we decided to go have dinner. We looked briefly at the menu at the hotel restaurant. It looked OK, but we decided to ask about other places nearby. The young man at the desk told us about several places within walking distance. We headed back over toward the mall, where one, possibly two places were located. Collections of vehicles featured in most farm complexes, but, unlike in Australia, where old vehicles are scrapped by the well-off, or turned upside-down by others to scavenge parts, these are set up on blocks, awaiting either a buyer, or reinstatement to active duty.

Heading out of the hostel, there was literally nothing around. (In the last blog exert this was touched upon but I had not found that fact until today). With all the streets leading nowhere, my interest in exploring waned. Soon, the goal was to locate a restaurant for breakfast/lunch. This was soon downgraded to anywhere selling food as no restaurants were nearby.
