Day 195: Bandos island: Day 3
... arrived. In the end we didn't use a single penny of Rufiyaa because everything is billed on our room number and pay everything off at the end by card or US dollars. Unless you go do Male' and buy something at the market or something, you won't need a local currency in Maldives.
We went to bed reasonably early. I seem to get tired very easily here despite I am not doing anything, maybe because of the sun… hard life eh?

... we wait for the rest of people going to our island resort, in a nice speed boat. There are only to ways of getting to the islands: speed boat or hydroplane. After a short navigation (30 minutes), we get to Paradise Island Resort in the middle of a storm: this is real bad luck! Wonderful week exploring atolls in the Maldives
... across. There are hardly any other towns in the whole country. Maldivians are Sunni Muslims, and no other religions or sects are permitted. However they observe a liberal form, and women do not observe purdah, although many wear a headscarf.
