Heading to island paradise

... then told us it was stand 34. This was empty too.
A bloke came over and said I know the person, let me find him for you. He didn't because the rep turned up just as he headed off.
He took us to the seaplane checkin desk and we weighed our bags including hand luggage. Jumped on a bus to get to terminal c. Non of this looked familiar since we had been to Male airport about 7 years back. Terminal C did though.
Boarded a small sea plane for a 25 minute flight to Ellaidhoo ...

A wander around the city

The harbour was full of fishing boats preparing to head out for a night of fishing. And the fish market was still trading - with some huge, huge yellow fin tuna being carved up. Rather sad. We saw those in the water just a few hours before!!

The mode of transport here - scooter. The streets were lined with them parked up. And crossing the road you had to weave and dodge your way through them!

And of course, there were a few disappointing ...

... Another cool fact: their eyes are on their dorsal surface, to see foes, and their mouths are on the ventral side... they find FOOD by smell and electrical current!

Nate chased a shark. Yes. Yes, he did. Luckily, it was a baby reef shark, but I still want to give him credit for swimming TOWARD a shark, rather than my much-less-brave reaction of trying to swim AWAY from the little guy.

... from a man with darker skin, a large beard, a long white robe and head covering, and Pakistani accent, and to be able to say clearly that not all US people are terrified of Muslims, or hate them, or think badly of them. We all agreed that while its ***********e person to change the world, that we all hope that the way we raise our children, and teach our children's friends, might bring about the change we all want so badly.
