Barely across the street is the tomb of Maulana Al- Hafiz Abul Barakaath Yoosuf Al-Barbari (What a name). He is revered as the man who converted Maldives to Islam. Originally from Morocco he we would die in Maldives the following year and was interred here as a pilgrimage site.

Days 48 - 54: Maldives
A late night Singapore airlines flight brought us into Male at around 10pm - as such, our first night was at a close by airport hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the awesome breakfast buffet on offer which set the tone for the meals that we had for the duration of our stay. Today in Rasdhoo, the wearher is sunny and warm. I spent the morning on the beach swimming and reading. Today until Monday, there are big celebrations on the island.
