... you kind folk. Merci beaucoup! So much so, I decided to turn down the offer of an elelphant just this afternoon even though I had been reliably informed they have a history of helping people cross the Alps.

... the rain. It was 11 degrees when we set out. We weren't feeling particularly inspired this morning, but it's the sort of weather you tend to get in the Alps! So we hardened up and pedalled off. The track started off along a gravel road with plenty of puddles. So at the start of the day, my shoes were already drenched. A good start!
