... encounters with people along the way which has made this trip so memorable. Oh, ya... It turns out that Gerard, the kind, dignified man who was tending the vineyard that we ran into the other day... the man who asked us to join him for some wine... the man we turned down... well, he was also the mayor of the medieval town of St. Saphorin. We kicked ourselves a little for have missed what would have been a rich afternoon... c'est la vie.

We took care of the necessities and found the cab...of course he said he knew where to go. The traffic was bad getting out of Vevey on a Friday evening but soon we were on the road to St. Saphorin.
