Today was the final day of our tour, but sadly we could not hike due to pouring rain. Luckily we are at a nice hotel in an actual town (Charmonix) which is a good place for a day off. We've all been relaxing Ryan on his phone and I spending an enjoyable day reading on the kobo. Mom and dad have just been walking around. That ...

... with many chair lifts and T-bars) and caught the cable car down to laTour. From la Tour we started walking towards Argentiere but ended up stopping at Montroc where we hopped onto a train to Argentiere with some fellow travellers. The high point will be the Col de Balme which is supposed to have a funky restaurant for lunch... -- ...

... feet. We decided to take their advice and do the alternate route - La Bovine. This route was shorter and only involved a climb of 2500 feet, basically following a trail around the side of the mountain. It was very humid and it felt like one was walking through a rain forest, with tall trees, ferns and lots of green ground coverage. There were a number of switchbacks as we came to the tiny hamlet of Bovine, which is really ...

Another day, another mountain. So yes, Tali recovered and we were able to resume the tour. She was a bit weak so she went much slower on the climbs today, at her mother's pace! We ended by taking a bus to Lac Champex. The drive was interesting. A long steep windy narrow road leading up to the town. The place we are staying at is very charming and the dinner was excellent. Weather ...
