Well we had an amazing encounter early this evening with the young Czech man who we encountered several times in Le Puy the day before we left. He was so excited to see us as we were to see him. He never thought he would see us again and we never thought he would make it this far. Nor did he. Another great day of hiking and solitude. We had a good sleep because the church bells stopped ringing at midnight and started at 7am. For some strange reason they ring twice on the hour. Today's walk was magnificent up in rocky remote hills with vistas that went on forever. It brought out the Scottish in both of us - ancient stone walls, small trees and shrubs, wind, little relief from the elements etc. and cows but few sheep.
