... a great chat with two Dutch climbers - my roommates - who have explained my route in great detail and given me some very useful tips, including making it a three-day journey instead of the two I had planned (yet more Chemin angels?). ... the room had a completely new aroma, that of strong cleaning products. That evening, inspired by the cleaners less than subtle hint that we smell bad, we found a nearby coin laundry. We just finished the tour du Mont Blanc - 180km, 3 countries, 9 days! Also some sore feet by the end...
actually it was probably some of the nicest hiking we have ever done - stayed in some lovely hotels and mountain refuges, ate amazing food each day, good wine each night!
Think Andy was a bit de estates to be in Chamonix in summer rather than winter, but ...
