We spent 10 days in Morzine staying at Chalet Kaila, learning how to cook, clean, and behave. Interesting experience. 150 people in the training group that will go on to staff, La Pagne, Les Gets, Alp du Hues, Morzine and Avoriaz. There are 10 chalets in Morzine and us up the hill. Literally 900m up and about 3 kms across. Pretty sanitised, and not somewhere for black humour or a wind up, although sometimes you just can't help yourself. Wide variety of people doing the job, ...

We went in the spa (well kind of, I sat on the edge!) and the pool several times, swapping in between the 31 ...

Fun ascent up a funicular (100 year old installation) to landing on the ridge above the village. Just in front of the Hotel de Sonloup. A group of preschool kids were gathered there with their ...
Oops, no notes again! Refuge Elena quite new and modern. Large dorms but partitioned into bunks of 4. Located on a high ridge overlooking the valley, where we had a long break and arvo tea. Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...
