      ... for Mitch at the big centre in Les Houches. Mitch is very quickly developing a love of all things 'mountain'. Finally our 2 weeks were topped off with dinner at the local pub (of course run by an ex Melbournite) and French wine with Eli & Martin. Really sad to say goodbye to Chamonix, and these two weeks are going to be hard to beat in our remaining 6 weeks of travel.       ... below us. It is the largest glacier in France at 7km long and 200m deep... AND WE WENT INSIDE IT!!

      There was a small gondola which took us down closer to the glacier, but we still had to walk down 430 steps to get inside.
