In a few hours I'll already be on the road, off of 100 Mile House, a small town about a five hour drive away from Prince George, to volunteer in the Educo summer camp until the end of August.

... a mile back up and up. With the snow melt all of the rivers are at high water marks so all of the falls are really rushing.We made another 200 miles today, nice and easy pulled off the road around 2:30 to camp in Purden Provincial Park. Sites are nicely spaced with heavy tree cover. Almost a rain forest environment.

Our train trip really justified our decision to travel at this time of year.
As we wove through the mountains there were frozen creeks, lakes (saw some ice fishing) and the snow began to fall. The trip was rivers, canyons, mountains and gorges. Gosh some little communities were remote. We stopped as required at small sidings to pick up and drop off.
It was snowing this morning when we woke.
Our big excitement today was getting into a car full of mosquitoes. We killed mosquitoes as we traveled down the road. Soon it seemed like there were as many dead mosquitoes on the inside of the window as there were on the outside.

... took each others' pictures . . . so I volunteered to take one of all three of them . . . and then asked if they would get one of me . . . for my grandson Cole . . . who is CRAZY about trains. They obliged!!
There is free WiFi in the station . . . so I am making a few entries while waiting for the train.
The weather is overcast . . . the temp this morning was 5C (= 41F) . . . it as risen to 7C (44.6). The cabin was quite chilly this morning . . . ...
