... trap, no doubt, but I've wanted to visit it. I had no idea that Germany and Austria were so devout in the Catholic religion. We saw wood carved crucifixes along the roadside and here and there on mountain sides. Our guide told us it was not a marking for accidents or anything tragic, it was just a place for hunters or woodsman to go and pray when they were away from the village.
Our final destination for the evening was Innsbruck, a lovely city with a ...

Surprise!! Our First European Christmas Market

We had planned to see Christmasmarkets in Salzberg, Vienna and Nuremburg but did not really expect it in Innsbruck. It was a pleasant surprise as the market had started on the weekend.

The one in the Aldstadt is small but interesting. There is another one by the river called the Crystal Market as there is huge Swarovski Christmas tree made of crystals that is at the middle of that market. A third market will start this weekend on the main ...

as I said was a day of adventuring around the Alps simply to waste time as I did
not want to get the Sunday sailing from Amsterdam and so would waste a day and
catch the Monday.
The plan was to stop off at Seefeld which is my usual stop and ride the
next 600 or so km to Amsterdam with the usual stop at Darmstadt. However tonight
looking at the maps I suddenly realised the total ...

... being able to see Neuschwanstein Castle, and to be able to see it was amazing. I was so excited all day, and it was more magnificent than I could've imagined.
The next morning, I headed off to the airport, and made my way to Cardiff, where I met up with Haley, a dear friend from home! We were off to see a Rugby match that weekend, where my reading week and last post of my adventures of the week are featured!
