after office hour has ended i rush to manjung bus station to fetch h but h still not show up. then i have to ask h where is h now.
then h ...
i woke H up early in the morning as he requested soo that H will not miss bus to manjung.
then when H arrived at manjung after a 3hours journey by bus from penang to manjung. H called
me at about 11.50am. i was shocked and rushly try to finish my job to meet H.
then we chek in to Kwest Hotel. Standard queen for RM55, very budget hotel. Then the love sparks...
... made for some great shots.
We arrived at Ipoh on time and had a 2 hour wait for our next bus, we tucked into our sandwiches and played a few hands of cards to kill time. The bus depot was a large room with about 40 small kiosk type windows all round the edge, in each kiosk was someone trying to sell you a ticket to different destinations. The noise was incredible, it was like being at a cattle auction, I am not sure ...
... jumping into the ocean is a logical way to cool down. But it doesn't work like that here. It's like slipping in to a warm bath. Very surreal. And so we headed over to join Dave and Liam for the sunset. I left the three of them supping on Tigers and did another 3-2-1 straight into the pond-like stillness of the ocean as the sun slowly dipped in to join me at eye-level. It was out of ...
Pulau Pangkor, Perak, Malaysia scottwoz... hill in Lumut, I had a great view of the town and the surrounding woods and water. Several times a day, chanting from a loudspeaker at the local mosque would accompany a nice sea breeze that blew through the apartment. The weather was also fantastic, hot and sunny during the day, and if I was lucky, the occasional lightning storm at night that I could watch from my balcony. Most days I would go for a swim, then walk ...
Lumut, Malaysia jasonfults... just.. relaxing time really! We did have a proper Malaysian dinner on the last night though, where we were all force fed rice until we burst, we wore sarongs, sat on teh floor, and ate with our hands! I really enjoyed this part of the trip, before we came I was a little nervous about it, but it was really wonderful. Back to basics really.. no lights or hot water, for the most part, but that was fine!
Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia brypi... at the same time Malaysia closes the Perhentians. So we make our way along the west coast and call by Pulau Pangkor for a few days beach time in what is promised to be emerald green waters and golden sands. Well, the waters were a deep green and the sand was a glimmering yellow and it could have been a great ...
Pulau Pangkor, Malaysia benandcally... get to for even more information that may come handy that day. The less developed a country, the harder it gets. Travelling implies staying in rooms that are usually not too clean, not to mention the numerous places that are outright nasty. Cockroaches and rats are common roommates to travellers. Travelling means finding out the rules of the game over and over again in each new town, each ...
Kuala Selangor, Malaysia bonnie... I don't know why anyone would stay in the other hostels? Trudie picked up a top down the road for RM30 and I looked at a couple, problem is they're more Malaysia than London or anywhere that isn't routinely over 30'C - I gave them a miss. People here seem nice, there is a RAF base - that's Malaysian RAF and I have been told this helps to keep the peace. American GI's also take R&R here. Well - better go ...
Penang, Malaysia benandtrudie... wildlife. We saw this massive lizard sprinting along the beach in front of us. It was at least four feet long! There are wild monkeys here as well, and also Hornbills (they are types of birds for those who weren't members of the RSPB when they were kids!!), and massive Sea Eagles who seemed to enjoy chasing the monkeys in the trees. We decided not to stay as long as we had initially planned as we were really struggling for things ...
