... the country for four months loomed in the background.

Thanks to the empty window seat next to me, I settled into my Swiss Air flight thinking I was going to get some sweet shut eye. Unfortunately, I was wide awake... BUT it just meant that I got super excited about all of the airplane food I got to eat (never underestimate a packaged brownie from Switzerland), and I watched Boyhood (which I hear won a Golden Globe) - ...

Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...

... and Mariette is from France. The working language of the Project is English however much of the chit-chat goes on en francais. I think by the end of this trip my French is going to be perfect! I love the opportunity to practice. Maybe I will even have a super high-class French accent!
Since it is labor-day, and my first day, we cut out at 4:30pm and my coworkers took me out for a beer at this lovely outdoor bar along Lac Léman. It was my first time having the special mix of ...
