... white wine, but it also comes in red and prosecco. Later we had knödel and strudel and we saw Ötzi. that was very good. They had a whole exhibition on the fidings and the science and everything. The last floor was the fun floor, where they showed all the letters they got from people trying to tell them that they recognized ötzi to be one of their relatives or something. A day of cold and hot
... all the way up here and all I want was a river or something to dive into.
It’s now almost 4pm and I knew I had to start thinking of finding somewhere to sleep for the night. I arrived into the historic town of Edolo but decided to head further simply to see what it was like over the passes up ahead. However just as I left Edolo there was a sign saying "passes closed due to snow" and so I turned back and went on the hunt for somewhere to stay for ...
No marmite, just rain
... as the rain held off a little longer and we were able to admire the windsurfers and sailing teams across the shoreline.
There is certainly plenty to occupy those that are not avid walkers in this town, with numerous shops and cafe's, all of which are set in modern, yet mediterranean feeling surroundings. I can image this place would be packed with Italians weekenders and tourists from much further afield during the summer months. Today though the rain was keeping ...
Hiking ahead of the marathon
... dry along the route. The climb back down, of course is easier but it is difficult to stay upright with the numerous loose stones underfoot.
Tomorrow Lake Garda hosts a marathon which according to the web is expecting 65,000 visitors and therefore the roads are close around the Northern end of the Lake... so it will be another en foot option for us and hopefully a trip down to Torbole and the Marmite Giant :).

Otzi the Iceman
... we had our worst experience yet with dinner. Ordered a pizza, salami something. Went all the way back to our hotel, opened up the box...and it was anchovies. We tried to eat it, but it fishy beyond fishy! Threw it in the bin and went out a second time to get kebabs. Much better option! Tip for life: always check the goods before leaving the store.
