    ... by the altitude, only tired from a long day of climbing.

    After eating some lunch it was time to head back down the way we came, fortunately the majority of this was down hill. We stopped at the little restaurant to use the facilities. The French do not like you using their bathrooms so Ray, Rich and I ordered cokes and a nutella crepe. After ordering we then realized the bathroom was out of order!

    We stayed at the restaurant a little too long ...

    Up early this morning, truth is I woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. I need to be down at St Jean du Maurienne for the start of the Etape by 6:45am and I have a 30min drive to get there from my base at Valmeinier.

    Here's the breakfast plan, make a cup of coffee tip it into a drink bottle, grab some eats for breakfast (madeleines, banana, drinking yogurt plus 2 stale "pain au chocolates" I pinched from the hotel ...

    Up early this morning to pack and leave Aix Les Bains for the next stop at Valmeinier. Along the way I intend to catch up with Chris Martin at La Toussuire. Chris is staying at the top of the ski station, where we hope to finish the Etape du Tour on Sunday....after 138kms and over 5000m of vertical ascent.

    I stepped out the front door of the hotel only to be hit with a down pour of rain....the forecast didn't predict rain ...

    280 km Fuel €15.30 and €10 First part of the drive was through flatland Italy wasn't much to see but the second half was great, down the French rocky Alps into Monaco. One road was shut going over the Alps so had to take a detour. Walked down to the harbour in nice and saw some very expensive boats a had dinner at a French /American bar. £78.13 apogia ...
