... those hills. Torture! Livigno is an interesting town. It was suffering from poverty so they decided to compensate for its isolation in a little pocket of Italy near Switzerland by making it a tax free zone. So we wandered the streets when we arrived and looked at the high class duty free stores. Day 4 First day cycling effort......eish.

... quite special. However, as they say, **** HAPPENS, and I
ended up having a blow out in my rear tyre. So the cycle tour ended up as a
walk with bike to push.

We walked to the next village of Cellerina where we found a
cycle shop. Since the repair would have taken a couple of hours we decided to
catch a bus home.

The weather being reasonable ...

... were able to warm up with a pot of Peppermint Tea and a bowl of tomato
soup. Awesome………… Bad luck though, we still needed to walk another 14 odd kms
to reach the village of Spinas where we boarded the train for home.

All in all a 24km walk that took us all of 8 and a half
hours, two blisters and sore legs made it a day to remember.

Needless to say it wasn’t too difficult to get to sleep that
evening.

On entering Dijon I gave looking around for the Mustard factory a miss. 11 hours had turned in nearly 13 hours. Enough of that.

The moment you cross the border of Switzerland everything changes. Only 500 meters inside the country i entered a town called Le Locle with a most beautiful Town Hall which made me stop and turn back to have a look at it. The main street has those typical Swiss style ...

Camper sleeping always takes some getting used to. Altitude
doesn’t help either. Fortunately I was so tired that it didn’t matter.
