... riding the Route Des Grande Alps. Its been fantastic. We have ridden through grassy valleys with cattle and sheep. Small sleeping villages and bustling service towns. Marmots have played boo a few times but never stay still long enough for a photo.

After a horrid nights sleep, with 3 of us not well, we left Asti and drove towards the French border and the formidable Alps. We encountered quite a few tunnels that we had to drive through with some being over 5kms long. At least this saved us having to wind our way through the mountains. Once again there were snow capped mountains on either side of us.

I had this fabulous idea of a tour called skifest by the fanatics. It only dawned to me on the journey that this may come with a few hiccups.
