... to be allowed to visit the engine shed with lots of pits to fall down and trip hazards. And lots of engines in seriously large bits. Good job I have my iPad filled with heaps of books!! ... learned that the area of the labrynith was able to survive with no water. Wow!!!! Following this visit to the gardens we headed to manchester to see my sister, brother in law and niece and nephew. The GPS was great and took us on the country roads to avoid the traffic. ... The final flight of an historic cold war supersonic British Vulcan bomber happened to occur during our lunch as the cherry on top.
Our exploration of the palace grounds was heightened by the presence of the illustrator for 'The Gruffalo' book series. We were able to act the role of the privileged 18th century aristocracy, playing ring toss and lawn bowling, wandering the gardens, all with Gruffalo inspired activities for the kids interest.

Today we set out for a two night holiday in Rainow near Macclesfield. We wanted to spend a couple of days seeing a bit more of my old stamping ground and to visit my Cousin Eileen. She wasn't home so we missed out on that visit.

... and have a look at Poynton, where we used to live. Franchesca is not too impressed so we have a quick look around and skedaddle. Check in to Travel Lodge which is so so, get what you pay for I suppose and for 10 cant complain. We head in to Macclesfield but cant find a single thing open. So head up to Bollington and find a nice pub for dinner, The cock and Pheasant. I had Sunday roast and Franchesca had, guess!! Yes Lasagne. Both very nice, then back to bed. ...
