Crazy daze

... waiter said “wow, you want?” “yes” I thought he meant help her but when Boo came running back screaming “Mama said yes! I come to Australia!” I realised that the wires had been crossed! That took a bit of explaining! We spoke about trying to help Boo get back to school and how we could help. We made arrangements to meet the day after next to take her to the school and speak to the teacher.

Boo somehow adopted us and has been hanging out with ...

... A bit same same. Then a boat to phuket. Big mistake. I hate it here and hope to never come back. You can't help but notice the amount of fat german men with beautiful young thai women its so seedy and in your face. Its also expensive and the beach isn't that great if you can make your way to the sea through the crowds of germans (nothing against germans but there is so many of them!). We fly to Singapore at the crack of drawn tomorrow for 16 hours before getting on ...

... fan bungalow, which is perfect. It's 400 baht a night, it is possible to get a cheaper place in town, but the beach is about 15 steps from our front door, and we've met some nice people here, so you couldn't really ask for anything else. As soon as we arrived here, Eric introduced himself to us and has been pretty much hanging out with us since. He's from Brisbane and quit his job to go travelling around for about 6 months. He's a really nice guy. We partied ...

Krabi

We left Khao Sok and travelled three hours in the minivan of death (who overtakes on a blind corner...really?!) to the beautiful beach resort town of Ao Nang in Krabi. It was a care of heading straight to the beach to nurse our shattered nerves. My exuberance for getting to the beach meant disaster for areas of my back not attended to with the sunscreen...yowee. TBC......

... to about 12m. We spent about 30 mins on our first dive, after lunch we dived again, this time for an hour. It was simply amazing to see the variety and beauty of the underwater world. Got to swim alongside fish of every shape and colour, with a backdrop of amazing corals. We even found Nemo! We definitely enjoyed Lanta best of all the islands we had been to, although the weather was not always ideal. But it was such a chilled out place it didn't matter too much!

... was out. It was good fun just watching them (and Allan) look for little holes in the sand and dig up the shellfish. The next day, Allan, Nigel, my sis and I went on a day tour to the surrounding islands. We were treated to spectacular close-ups of the limestone outcrops, blindingly white beaches and stunning lagoons. I must've taken photos of almost every rocky outcrop in the sea! Our first stop was Bamboo island - not sure why it's called that as ...

"Cultural and meditation centre, a unique forest temple with caves, 1000 year old trees and the best hilltop view of Krabi." Apparently you can walk 1287 steps (or something like that) up to the top of this temple and see this amazing view and loads of other cool stuff at the top, including skeletons and big posters of dissected bodies ...

... of restaurants. We are not sure what goes on here regularly, but for the duration of our stay, the festival brought out all the local hotel-restaurants who set up food stands creating a psuedo "night market" where you could pick and choose specialties such as grilled steak kabobs, pad thai, curries, and best of all pancake-crepes. Once equipped with food you either sat down on mats on the beach or moved up to the beachside restaurantas with their rough hewn ...

Chill Out in Southern Thailand

Phukaew - pronounced Fuh-ka-yu Koh Lanta, Thailand - The cabinas/restaurant place we're staying is called Phukaew, and I swear that's what the maid said to me yesterday under her breath, when I asked for an extra towel. Next door to Phukaew, there's a little place called Bliss Bar. We watched the sunset from Bliss last night while listening to "chill out" music. We first heard this type of music last year in ...
