... kayak has its own Thai paddler so we can just sit back and enjoy the sights. Somehow the paddlers spot a mangrove snake high up asleep in the trees. We also spotted a large frog and a beautifully coloured king fisher. We also passed local people fishing by hand and playing in the river. After the kayak trip we headed to the elephant sanctuary. This was an experience we will never forget. Firstly we met two of the female elephants and then watched as they cooled themselves down ...

... a lot but it was still really hot so everyone sat out. We had a great massage on the beach. Steve's face dropped when the man walked over to do his. It was even funnier when the girl who did mine let" me know he was in fact a ladyboy and loved to massage handsome men. Steve wasn't fully relaxed like I was :). We got the bus to the full moon party at 9.30pm. We thought it was best to go a bit later as Steve wanted to watch ...

... confidence given by booking through an agency. My WORST DAY EVER while travelling. *Breathe* On the positive and extremely lucky side, only money was taken and all other valuables like our camera were left behind. Maybe it would be hard to sell them and they just wanted cash? I don't know. Heck, they even left my 1 ltr bottle of Glen behind. What fools!!... *sigh*. A relatively inexpensive lesson learned – we really did get off easy ...

... Chilli Basil with Prawns, Veg Fried Rice followed by Banana Fritters) and a walk back to the hotel for an early night. The sleep on the boat was comfortable, but it was still midnight when we got to sleep and 06:30 when we approached the harbour - this holiday is supposed to include some rest! :-)

... starved and tired and wondering how we would manage the energy to canoe. Luckily, at the "thai herb" cafe we feasted on fried rice and local jungle drink meant to rehydrate and cool- chrysanthemum and pandanus juice, both local and delicious remedies.
