I decided that I was going to travel to Myanmar before crossing back into Thailand to explore the north of the country. I therefore got a ferry (smooth sailing) and a coach to Surat Thani so that I could get the sleeper train up to Bangkok.

... our next destination usually with speed and aplomb that fellow travellers are left looking for taxis or the right bus/ferry. So today we ever transferred from the hotel to the ferry, to the airport at Koh Samui, to the hotel in Phuket thus involving several meet and greets and considerable distances. 3 comments, 7 photos now we're in the town of Surat Thani, a 2 hour drive from the National Park.
Why did we come here? Because we're taking the plane back to Bangkok tomorrow...and we wanted a place near the airport. Problem is..we ended up booking a hotel that's an hour away from the airport! ....weird! Lolllll
So now we're in the middle of nowhere, kinda, and we cannot communicate with anyone...not our driver, not the kind people at ...

... the instant noodle lunches we can get in the states) one bowl was rice, another a green (very hot and spicy) curry and the third, a noodle, chicken and mushroom soup. We opted for two glasses of ice and poured ourselves a rum & coke...good thing as our mouths were burning from the curry!

Left at 8am and arrived at our destination around 6:30pm, One of the passengers was a Thai lady ...

Just arrived at our hotel in Surathani ready for our flight to Kula Lumpur in the morning. We've had a fantastic couple of days in Koh Phangan. We travelled by boat on Saturday from Samui.
