I felt much more comfortable in Banja Luka, because everything was more familiar: Street organization, building types, and even some of the names of stores and products. *Side Note*: In a quest to find my friend Becky some laundry soap we ventured into a Banja Luka Walgreens resulted in me needing to put my German to good use. Its been a great day and an awesome experience staying here and experiencing village life. Very much subsistence living but with such a wonderful family who even though ...

... feed the piglets and then chose one to be slaughtered, grabbed its back leg and dragged it outside. Did the dreaded deed and then proceeded to clean the hair off, clean its ears, clean its teeth and gut it ready to put on the spit. I was very much included in the conversation While all this was happening, with Peter interpreting for me. Not the most pleasant experience but part of the experience of village life. ...

    Mystery Tourism

After several hours and two border crossings, we arrive at Banja Luka in Bosnia. Little did we know, that this supposed adventure tourism hub had been badly affected by the floods. This adversely affected the tourist industry, resulting in hours searching for hidden tourist agencies that may or may not exist. We ended the day settling for a dinner of delicious veal rolls with spicy Serbian salad and some World Cup ...
