Our third stop in Bosnia, we are now in Republic Srpska in the city of Banka Luka! A lovely 5 hour train from Sarajevo, this riverside locale so far feels like a modern metropolis in comparison to the laid back old towns we have visited so far. Tomorrow is time to explore and enjoy the weekend, before boarding our uber budget flight (somehow cheaper than the 6 hour bus ride) to Belgrade on Monday followed by a night train to ...

After this we went outside to prepare the pig for the spit. Dad ...

After several hours and two border crossings, we arrive at Banja Luka in Bosnia. Little did we know, that this supposed adventure tourism hub had been badly affected by the floods. This adversely affected the tourist industry, resulting in hours searching for hidden tourist agencies that may or may not exist. We ended the day settling for a dinner of delicious veal rolls with spicy Serbian salad and some World Cup ...

    1st week jitters

A travel blog entry by cj-allen on Sep 20, 2013

... at this point. I had done lesson plans before on my course, but I wasn't sure if I was to just follow the textbook, whether I was to add to it or what, and everyone seemed extremely stressed, I don't think the phone stopped ringing the entire time I was there. People really want to learn languages here. So after an overwhelming first day, I was pretty knackered by the time I got home. Had some dinner with Angel and Snezana and we chatted for a fair ...
