... owner of the rental place rushed out in a boat to meet us with a look of relief on his face. He said the winds blew in unexpectedly and he was glad to see we were okay. His concern was only fleeting though. When I complained about the anchor not working he implied it was my fault and that I was lucky he didn't charge me for the missing anchor. I told him I'd be sure to mention him in my Trip Advisor review of his business and he refunded me some of the money. ;)

At 6:40am we were stoked when we got the metro underground ticket machine to convert to English and get us to the Starting point of our tour. The underground came up right beside the square we were going to which was great here we met our tour guides and found a few other kiwis on our trip to Pompeii. Next day we're back on the Amalfi Coast and the sun is shining, making the view more stunning than ever. We head back to Maiori where we started our hike yesterday… except this time we’ll hike back to Salerno. It’s New Year’s Eve, but luckily buses are still running today.
