There were numerous hold-ups along the very narrow Amalfi coast road - roadworks, wedding parties parked where no car should ever park, broken-down vehicles, and, being a Sunday everyone was out driving this scenic road. An ambulance passed us heading back in the Salerno direction and we felt very sorry for the poor patient who would be on the road for an hour or more as best we could estimate it.
