    ... rest we were on our own .
    Like a trail of ants we headed up and up ,stopping to gasp for breath and take in the view.It was a long slow slog but finally we started to smell the sulphur so knew it was not much further. The view from the top was spectacular . There was only a small amount of smoke coming out of the volcano but our guide did explain that it hasn't erupted since 1944 but is still active and they are expecting another eruption sooner ...

    ... bolognese, calamari, and my FAVORITE dessert of the trip, delizia al limone!!! (This was also my favorite gelato flavor in Rome.. tastes just like lemon pound cake! ) Our meal ended with fragrant limoncello digestifs.     ... est loin d'etre un chemin de croix pour moi , cependant, le vent est de plus en plus menaçant ,au fur et à mesure de ma progression dans les hautes sphères ... Le dieu Eole qui me couvre de sa cape ???
    En tout cas, le panorama est fantastique : Positano, les terrasses en surplomb , l'étendue bleue au loin ne quittent pas mes yeux ..
