... We happened upon windy mountain roads and discovered unbelievable vistas. We traveled down gravel roads in pursuit of a winery only to find sheep, ram and horned cows. We ventured along dirt paths to encounter secluded beaches attended only by locals.

I swam in the sea. I ate until I felt ill. I taught Nico ...

... pretty beach town. We arrived and realized they were having a fair. What serendipity! We enjoyed seeing the various carnival rides and vendors. And it was eye-opening to experience an outside perspective on America -- check out my photo of the Team USA ride. Yikes. We then found a lovely little restaurant and sat waterside. ... Back to the hotel and car, we head off to explore the coast further along to a large-ish town - Calvi. The coastal tourism is quite different here to what we experienced in Sardinia and at Bonifacio. There are large wide beaches here, no small coves and so, no mega-big yachts and motor cruisers. There is quite a bit of foreshore camping, the first we have seen and the camping grounds are quite respectable. We noticed in Italy ...

... around. I am currently sitting on a white leather lounge, enjoying a vodka and tonic whilst looking out across a deep valley to mountainside on the other side.Tthe sunset was spectacular. We are dining in tonight and will explore the local area a bit more tomorrow. This area is known for its natural beauty and is sporting opportunities - sailing, mountain bike riding (no, he's not going), trekking and so. If I am able to drag myself out of the triple king size bed, I might do ...
