Sue

As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
San Marino, San Marino, San Marino pollies... Dave is having a lot more success at tanning than me.

So the time has come to move on again. Tomorrow we are getting the morning train to Venice, hopefully giving us the afternoon to look around and have some dinner before getting the night train to Budapest. It will be our first experience of a sleeper train and we have heard mixed reviews. Still, we are both excited and can't wait to get to Hungary... a step closer to Moscow!

Love!

Amy and Dave xx

Cesenatico, Emilia-Romagna, Italy wolgo0420... the world) it was one of the more enjoyable and relaxing days we have had. Also pretty funny was when we went grocery shopping they actually had their own vats of wine in the store but funnier than that was when Jen got caught by the armed security gaurd taking a photo and he started ranting in Italian at her. Not much else to say just a real different kind of beach town that has a historic center. Very relaxing and fun. Now it is off to Verona the next morning...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattj... against us and this game was no different. Our defensive line shuts down the run usually without evening needing much help from the linebacking core, which is remarkable and a great asset.

The Marines tried to convert on fourth down and failed, giving us the ball at our own 30. On first down we came out in I-formation and I faked a dive then slung the ball out to Panzani on a hitch and he turned outside and got an easy 8 yards. That was the last time we ...
Milano Marittima, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mavsqb1... Naturally we got a t-shirt and the man showed us then his own garage with bikes he owned which was really special. He invited us for coffee but we had to get moving on. What a top day we had. Heading north we finally left the lowlands and reached the Dolomite mountains and camped by a lovely lake, Lake Garda. The lake is famous for windsurfing most of the year and the campsite catered for them. The views were beautiful of the soaring mountains behind us.
Florence, Italy angecolleen... home. The next day, Sunday, was the best. We got up early to head to the Vatican to see Pope Benedict Canonize 5 people. It was quite the event! This was the first canonization that Benedict has done, and it was pretty amazing to see. The morning was foggy, so the dome on St. Peter's was fogged in, until it opened up to an amazingly beautiful day. The crowd was enormous. People from all over the world, waving their flags for the Saint from ...
Rome, Italy kdut... which are still there, and itch like crazy! The next morning, we got up fairly early, went into Florence, had breakfast, and did a little grocery shopping for lunch on the train. The best part of the trip is coming up: I FOUND MT. DEW! I was SO excited, and am glad that the store I found it in is near Kerry and Kelly's pension (GU friends...) so, might have to have them bring me some when they come this weekend. It was the best part of the day, and ...
