Triq il-Qaliet Marsascala, Island of Malta, Malta, 35621632761
We arrived this morning, everyone on the top deck to witness our entry into port. It was so windy up top that one almost fell over. I enjoyed playing Winged Victory while watching the coastline.
The harbor is fantastic, ancient fortified walls, forts, escarpments, limestone, cobblestones, towers, ships. The colors hurt the eye they are so brilliant. From the sea to the sky to the boats and wooden ...
I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).
The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).
Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

... boiling anger and she left her parents in no uncertain terms concerning her feelings of abandonment. Managed to bribe the children to walk the 40 minutes back to the ship by offering them half the bus fare it would have cost us. Olivia spent hers on chocolate and well you don’t even need to guess what the boys did with theirs.
Palma de Mallorca
This is the administrative centre of the Balearic Islands and was warm and ...
... duped by the online descriptions that make the walk into the city sound rough.
Our tour guide is a dowdy English woman who is wearing a flower print dress and speaks with a breathlessly nasal English accent. “Thish ish a shtashtue of Shaint Jamesh, and-a….” she speaks like this as we follow her along the cobblestone streets lined with stone buildings. Our first stop is the Upper Baracca Gardens, a ...
... spent the remaining couple of daylight hours driving round and stopping in various places to take in the scenery, slowly making our way back up the island towards our apartment. The road signs on Malta are far and few between on the back roads, so a lot of it is left to general guesswork as to the direction you are supposed to be heading. We were on this road and I could see what looked like a main road in the distance and I thought it was probably the road we needed in ...
St Julians, Malta viskiki... put on some good music, invite friends over, cook, learn some French/Spanish/Maltese and celebrate yet another day in malta. We immediately jumped on the bus to Valetta because it was the last day of carnival. We got there for just a couple more hours of blasting house music with dancing everywhere(and all ages too, crazy to see young kids out at 11 dancing with everyone else). And then today, jumped on the shuttle to school(runs every hour between 7am-6pm) early, had my first ...
Lija, Malta jkosmides... Qim, before making my way down a 500m path to Mnajdra, which had a spectacular setting overlooking the coast. Unfortunately, following a big day in Valletta, and an amazing boat trip out to the Blue Grotto, my camera battery gave up the ghost just as I arrived at Mnajdra, meaning I couldn't take a single photo. I didn't let it ruin things for me though, and instead spent about an hour wandering around the temple and nearby monument and watchtower, savouring ...
Wied iz-Zurrieq, Malta willPete and I have been having a great time here. Our plane was delayed by about three hours when we got in and the anticipation was choking me up - but I got here eventually. It was great to see so many familiar faces after seven years of waiting to get back to them again. Pete loves the food here and is indulging as much as he can. He has tried everything and I am being a lot more open than I ...
Marsascala, Malta jess85... price. Next entry -> onwards and northwards from here - back to Sicily. Great Brands of the World - Malta There are brands here, but I can't pronounce them. So I have to award this one to the tasty and not-too-difficult to pronounce Cisk (pron. Chisk). Malta's home grown beer delivers the goods at a reasonable price and with a nice ring to it to boot.
