    Lagos is in the Algarve, Portugal. Prior to going I wasn't expecting much as all I wanted to do was relax on a beach for a week. My impression of the Algarve was that it was full of golf courses and ex pats which, it turns out, is partly true. However there is a lot more to it than that and I really liked it.     ... sunny. Siesta today as was really hot!!! Went for swim in dumping waves... Brought back half the beach with me but felt lovely. Lovely dinner out... The lady was lovely and so surprised when we said we were from NZ. She went to tell her husband behind the bar and when she came back she said that he had said that NZ was by Sth America.     ... person with airbnb didn't show!!! Finally after a call to their help line managed to rally someone up to let us in. Phew!!! Not sure what plan B was. Beautiful spot .... Apartment ok very cosy but a lovely view, close to bay and everything close. The beach has escalators up and down to get from the look out to the beach.
