Sorry about the sow post, have been out quite late the last couple of nights so I haven't managed to write anything.
We woke up on the 9th and moved hostels to the Gspot Party hostel which was rated the best in Lagos and we had wanted to stay there, hence the reason we moved.
From there we decided we needed something to eat so we found a small place called the Odium cafe that was the cheapest and best food ever. We ended up spending around 6 euros for a burger, ...
... seem to speak some English, but they are delighted when do don't have to - RESPECT! Yay Kate! Very warm welcomes and huge smiles seem to be the default attitude here. Although it's hot - about 30 degrees each day we were here - the city has thousands of trees and gorgeous shady squares where the temperature drops by 10 degrees and a refreshing breeze cools the happy flaneur at every turn ....oh joy and rapture ...
... a nice bed. Dina then cooked up our food which was impeccable, Dina put together some marinated chicken and I added a large punnet of strawberries to the mix. All of which cost the grand total of 4 euros.
After we were all done and had been pestered to go out by a bunch of Aussies which I kindly declined given the rugby result of that morning and being thoroughly sick of them at that point, we headed out and grabbed some ice cream. We were tempted ...
... Guess it's a bit of a problem. Arrived early so wandered down to the beach area to view the sea and sand. Very very hot but very beautiful .... Lots British tourists in various shades of pink to red... Many who should not go near the sun. Major drama when our apartment person with airbnb didn't show!!! Finally after a call to their help line managed to rally someone up to let us in. ...
