... became a bit confused in the forest so it was difficult to tell where the path was. However, 5km down the road the surface became smooth again and the rain eased up. We started heading through some lovely farmland scenery and dense undulating forest so a lovely ride. We had morning tea at a romantic bus stop and headed off again for the last few km to Pisek. Arriving in Pisek, basically a high school town, our room was ready early so we checked in. The hotel ...

... we were confronted by a huge dam wall so we dropped into the town at the bottom called Solenice which was pretty much shut, as most little towns are at this time of year. We took on the dam as a bit of a training run for the massive hills we'll face later on. Up until now the roads have been good. Unfortunately this 1km hill up about 250m was cobblestones the whole way, just like you see the cyclists going over in the Tour de France. This gave us harsh memories ...

After going in the room where they boil the malt and practically melting we went down to the brewing room which was a freezing 2 degrees for a nice cold beer. Once the tour was over we proceeded back to the van for lunch prior to heading of to our next stopover ...

Day 18 - Our Last Travel Day

Our last travel day (not including tomorrow's long flight home) began at 8:30 after breakfast at the hotel in Prague.

Not too much to report here.

We stopped for a break at the town of Tabor, Czech Republic, where we had about 45 minutes to stretch our legs and grab a coffee. Our last chance to get rid of our Czech Crowns (Money).

From there we completed our trip back to Vienna, Austria, with a stop for lunch along the way.
