It's embarassing."...
People must have wondered why I shifted to a seat nearer the TV so I could write on a pad and chuckle.
While I was making these notes, a single mosquito (I think) bit me three times. I bet the f*cker is a ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia jamiemeasures... of the idea, eight of us hopped onto MRT that would take us to the train station to catch a ten o'clock ride. Little did we know the train was not actually a means of transportation, but actually a human ice box. They LOVE the A/C here, and it seems as if the train operators are the leaders of this obsession. None of us were expecting it since we heard prior to leaving that Malaysia is actually hotter than Singapore. If I could go back, I would have brought my a ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia vriversbo... Langkawi without Fang in tow, just the two of us, and with a tinge of guilt, having to entrust the troublesome task of looking after a hyper kid to the two old grandparents. Guiltttyyyyy.....

We booked ourselves into the premier suite water chalet during the last day, a truly spastic indulgence that JF, surprisingly, was so bent on taking up. He loves the sea. Of course, I don't mind it at all! JF had to fork out RM2000++ for a night's ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia chengengxin... however somthing didnt agree with Hamish and it was a rather fast run back to the hotel to the toilet and cancellation of our catch up. Day3- Today began fantasticaly, we had our first Roti breakfast at a local cafe. For those who are ignorant like us, this is bit like a thin Nan bread, served with a sauce, and sometimes filling. Say plain with curry sauce, Bananna with condensed milk, egg with curry sauce. They were fantastic, yet so simple ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia jamish... special mention goes to the shrimp. I have never seen shrimp as large at these as they looked like lobster tails and tasted similar. After dinner, two taxis back to the hotel and Whitford suggested that after dinner drinks were in order. I took him up on the offer and everyone else had had a full day and opted out. A drink and then a storm was predicted by the cabbie, so back to the room after a very, very enjoyable day. Tomorrow will be a new day.
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia nedk... The forsets were out of a dream and were thick with lush green foilage and with a bit of drizzling rain that was around for moat of the 3 days, it gave the appearance of being in a rainforest. The base town of Tanah rata was very relaxing and i had a nice chance to relax in the cosy guesthouse called 'Fathers', run by a jolly Indian man, with the nature of a a pretty good father. Unless of course you didn't pay on time, then he became an angry father ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia danhobson... as we were leaving asking if we were checking out. Would she do that dead on noon (check out time)? It was all starting to seem very much like we had our time wrong...and if indeed that were true, we would have missed the 2:30 ferry anyway!!! To cut what is already a long story shorter, we found that the 5:15pm to Penang was not full, so we booked it. I then asked the cashier what the time was...2.40. Well, at least it meant the wait was shorter!!
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia mattandneetie... a Russian restaurant ("Lankawi's only..."). It might be better in the high season. On to the cablecar, an impressive trip up to the peak at 700m. There are tourist shops at the bottom and lots of Malays having a good time. This is a Muslim country, so most women wear headscarves. There are a few ladies in the hotel with full veils who eat food (brought by their husbands from the buffet) by passing it up underneath the layers. We stop at a black ...
langkawi, Malaysia travelburnett... Restaurant. We had a couple of pasta dishes here and they were lovely, and there was loads of it as well! It was run by a German lady, but you can't have everything - only kidding, she was really nice actually and we will probably be back for lunch tomorrow. After dinner, we talk a walk down the only street and then headed back to our little chalet type thing. I think the journey had caught up with us as we just crashed to bed.
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia vickersontour... much time, uploading pictures takes a while sometimes, so I'll let them tell our story. Today is a long travel day complete with an overnight bus back to Kuala Lumpur and a flight tomorrow to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I'm certainly looking forward to Indonesia though I hope I'm not setting my expectations too high. We miss you all and send our love, K & G
