I thought Graham had got lost in transition area where he spent ages checking and double checking everything , and then we had to spend a couple of hours wandering around and watching the other races. At 11.00 the athletes are summoned into the village and then lead out by a Scottish piper playing his bagpipes , which is a bit bizarre as this is Canada not Scotland. They made their way ...

    ... like a big egg. Apparently there's a lot of Ukrainians living in the plains provinces...lots of Eastern Orthodox churches and strange little villages dot the landscape.

    We checked in to the hotel around 3:00 and got all prettied up...me in a suit and M in a dress. We immediately discovered that this buffet is no joke...I'll just list every dish I personally tried:

    -prime rib, beef brisket, yorkshire pudding, curried pork, ...

    ... C, then -25C and continued until it peaked in early December with -35C for few days . Many people had even -42C overnight at the beginning of December. But ussually when is so cold, the sky is clear and the sun shines, though it does not provide much heat... Worse times occur when the days are cloudy , with snow and wind , then -20C is ussually worse than those with -40C.

    ... line was behind me and another traveler....giggle giggle.. Must have thought i was crazy ... Oh well, the sweet thing was I went to the other wicket and was finished before them.....so there! Off I go... Line up for the luggage scanner to leave the airport...why? Hmm beats me. I pass the "screening".
