Clutching my new bag, guidebook and with my newly visaed passport safely in my pocket, I headed for home. I decided to pop into Murphy's, my local pub, for a quick drink and to say goodbye to my friends there which turned out to be a big mistake! Well, never a mistake to hang out with your mates in Murphy's but ...
... it a great place to be if you want to get away from the usual chaos of Doha and one of the very few paces to hold a liquor license apart from bars in 5* hotels. It is a great place for a family or friends retreat on an invariably sunny autumn / winter / spring day.
Kids can wander around (away from the links obviously) while adults can just
enjoy drinks, snacks and food in a serene and friendly setting.

Flight QR 31 to Doha was less eventful which resulted in john getting some rare unmedicated sleep during the trip. Qatar air staff were lovely and attentive, though the food was bog standard airfare. Then followed a 4 hour stopover in Doha which from the air looked like ...

For those of you boaters, you should see the yachts here!! Huge!!! We are on the ocean so a lot of people have massive yachts that are in a marina (we'll add pictures when we get a chance). The marina is in a semi circle and there are shops on ...
