I'm sat in the theatre, peering cautiously through a fierce haze of hot sparks currently pattering down from the ceiling and, by pattering, I more mean flying uncontrollably in all directions. Ignoring the obvious downside of rehearsing directly next to a six metre-high shower of hot metal flakes, I am filled with tremendous hope. ... so we thought ….. Soden’s! I think most people who know us would agree that eating at the pub was a fitting welcome to our family so we were really happy to do (almost) the same tonight. Although happy was not how we felt about it being our last meal together :(

We eventually got ourselves organised enough to leave the house so we headed into town on the train to visit Miniature World. ... milling around the streets and the plaza square (I’m not sure what to call the ‘square’), sitting down on seats and in the gutters having a drink and a great time. It felt like a really comfortable environment, no one seemed as though they were drinking to excess, they were just out having a really nice time. Drinking on the streets is not something that we tend to see in Australia, except perhaps for people sneaking drinks where they shouldn’t be and then ...

... the lobby and have a drink. We had met these two guys from Northern England the day before, and they came down and asked us "what are the Americans doing tonight?" First I was on the pub crawl plan, but then after we found out that wasn't happening, it was nothing. However, since these guys were European and of course love football, they were going to go watch the World Cup. The game started at 10, so we hung around in the lobby until then. Two other guys who were rooming ...
