156 Willis Street Wellington, North Island, New Zealand, 6011, 64-4-384-4122-
... National Museum, all in a drizzling rain. It felt very much like a fall day in Seattle. Interesting to watch people go about their business and get a brief glimpse of what it would be like to live here. From the small bit we've read and observed, Wellington has a very active arts and music scene to compliment the politics and workings of NZ capitol city. Lots of flyers pasted on surfaces announcing gallery openings, shows or fundraisers to various ...

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand kirst-leszek09... Nintendo Wii remote. After uploading my photos and messing around with Ben and Nicks photos I went to see the Collosal Squid. THe Collosal Squid was encased in a display cabinet, it was really impressive, one of the largest sdquids captured (in 2007), its eyes are the size of footballs apparently. After watching a 8 min 3D video of the Collosal Squid (which was really good as the 3D effects worked very well), I went ...
Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand leehorscraft... heroes being set up for an equalising drop goal in the 80th minute only to fluff it and drop the pass to the sound of huge roars of disappointment from around us. Leafing through a local listings magazine at the side of the bar, we noticed that it was the opening night of 'Theatresports' at a local venue - a local version of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' . Tickets being a bargain NZ$18, we quickly grabbed something to eat at Burger Fuel (a kind of NZ local-focus, eco-friendly ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand graeme_sarah... the UK team at the next Olympics! This weekend we went to see the Southern Steel Netball Team play the first match of the season - netball is BIG over here. The stadium was virtually full with people of all ages and both sexes. It was televised on Sky and NZ1 TV. Lyn was very excited and got quite noisy with her support. Yet again for what is said to be a non-contact sport it looked quite ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand mertonkiwis... surprised at the speed and the amazing turning radius these vehicles could handle. It was a blast! After lugeing we headed straight over to the Maori Cultural Centre for a hangi/performance. A hangi is a traditional Polynesian method of cooking in which the food is buried and cooked with hot rocks and steam. A tradtional Maori hangi involves food such as pork, fish, kumara (sweet potato) and pumpkin. Yum! The performance was absolutely mesmerizing. The songs were powerful ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand andrewandlaura... not impeded as they travel down the middle of the road and even as a pedestrian takes a little getting used to! Went to Federation Square, which for the tournament they've named 'Tennis Square' and went into the Transport bar for a drink. The square has a stage built for Oz day and a massive screen on the wall for the tennis. Saturday 24th January Melbourne Got up late and watched some tennis. Went for a walk down by the river and read a paper with a glass of wine.. Very civilised.. I ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand dave22Firstly, it's a bloody miracle we managed to get here at all! Heathrow was pretty much shut down, all but two flights were cancelled thanks to the heavy snow, and thankfully our flight was one of the two that made it off the ground. We got here safe and sound though, although our bums were very numb after the epic 27 hour flight and there was a shaky moment in Auckland when we nearly missed our connecting flight to Wellyboot. It's lucky ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand georgiafaye... and the swearing level went through the roof. I definitely miss the football banter with my mates but Mark was a great subsitute!

Unfortunately Mark refused to agree with his friend Alan & my superior logic that clearly Liverpool are a better side than the scum (Utd) this year... He must have been ...
Wellington, New Zealand al_fey... of this I followed Mel and Trina's example and started running to get to the pick-up bus in time. I did a Forest Gump through Mordor which was most impressive. Steep lava drop-offs, barren lava flows and ashen black deserts with hardly any vegetation and no birdlife or visible other animals whatsoever, they could not survive here as the sulfurous water is absolutely poisonous. I kept running through beautiful mudplanes and forests until I came to a walking hut at ...
