... didn't really enjoy it. We were slightly apprehensive of the parking in Amarillo but we didn't even know if it was safe or unsafe. Clearly, it was fine because no one broke into our car. I was just picturing vagrants breaking in and have a trunk show out of our wardrobe in the van. Really nothing of value. My underwear was still there.

We headed off to Oklahoma City (OKC). We saw a couple more roadside oddities again. Giant crosses. ...

Another beautiful day of weather for driving! We were heading to El Reno, just west of Oklahoma for our first stop. I wasn't able to get any photos but we did find it fascinating to see Oil pumps several places as we drove around Oklahoma City. A sure sign you are in the SW.

After turning on the bedroom light we saw a small bug on the floor but I told her the one I saw was 10 times that size. Probably bigger. Holy smokes, we can’t go to sleep with that thing on the loose.

We searched for a few minutes and it finally presented itself again, on one of her pillows. This time I ...

DAY FOURTEEN

... got a rush from the experience!

More stops. More wind energy generator's as far as the eye could see. The weather was mostly cloudy but tolerable.

We made it to just outside Oklahoma City to the small town of Yukon, OK (home of Garth Brooks) by dusk, did some laundry, had a great hamburger at a local chain, and called it a day.

530 miles.
