... by Oscar Niemeyer. We took the metro to Paraiso (Paradise!) and then walked to the park. Breakfast had been disappointing, due to getting up late and a failure by the hotel to replenish supplies, so we stopped for a coffee and cheese bread on the way. A couple of old Brazilian men on the next table asked where we were from and then told us a joke about going into a bar in New York and ordering a beer and being served a bear.
