Central Ibis Dijon

Yes it is true. We worked our way up to Beaune, and just like in the Rhone, have not been dissapointed at all. We explored the tiny towns of Pommard, Volnay, Mersault, and Satenay, and got to try some amazing wine from all places. We even tried a place in Pommard and then headed over to his son's winery in Mersault (the son's was actually better than his Dad's stuff!) The only word of caution if you come wine tasting ...

I don't think I will be making any road trips any time soon. <br><br>Beaune was a beautiful city despite the weather and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about traveling abroad to take a day or two and see the country instead of staying put in a city. Its not always the easiest option but definitely a different experience.

I only stayed for one night here because there was nothing in particular that I wanted to see, I just came to see what it was like. In our attempt to leave Luxembourg, we discovered that there were only two trains to Dijon; one that had already left and one that would put us in Dijon at 9pm. Since we only had one day in Dijon the 9pm train didn´t appeal to us. So we decided to use one of our precious buffer days and go some where else for the day. I looked at what trains were leaving the soonest and found that a mere 30 minutes away lied a very historical city in Germany ...
