We had an early breakfast with Lynne and John before meeting up with the rest of the group at Shinagwa station at 8.45am. We caught the local train to Tokyo Station and then the shinkansen to Omiya Station 23 minutes away. At the station, we caught a shuttle to the museum. The shuttle runs on rubber wheels. The nearby residents were complaining that the noise from the soon to be train would be too loud and that the town would be ...

... food goes around and around, and you just grab what you want. The sushi is usually served two pieces per plate, and the plates are colour coded to signify price. We later stopped at the local tea merchants house, and he attempted to get us all drunk on cherry whiskey made in the Fukushima region of Japan, and sake made by the local high school kids. It was a very fun night.

We have a couple days in Tokyo to recuperate, next stop, South Korea!

We met Eric (USA) just before we headed over to pick up the other bunch of trainees in the terminal.
