... by chanting and generally being loud.
We were immediately greeted by our Bavarian hostess; a busty barmaid who could carry 8 beers at once (1 litre mugs) and was always there to refill our mugs and see that we ordered as much as possible from the menu. Our first 1 Litre glass (called a Maß) of beer arrived around 9 am and was followed by two more before lunch time. After the Oompah band fired up, we listened for a while then decided ...
... It was very cool! I think they were some sort of group as a lot of women had flowers in their hair, but there were some people there who had obviously just joined in when passing by.
We watched them for a while then made our way over to the big garden and started to make our way through. Somewhere we went off track (how unusual!) and we found ourselves at the main road again, but we were also at a river crossing. Here, there was a kind of rise in the river base and it was ...
... by small parks throughout.
We went to the meeting Tuesday night and the English congregation of 45 publishers had 21 visitors including us, most of them having been delegates at the international convention over the weekend. As usual, we met many new friends and joined a couple for fantastic fare at a local biergarten afterwards.

... lay sleeping while the Nazis built their war machines and solidified their power. It is hard to comprehend that such a beautiful city as this has ever had any of the history we have talked about above. Munich is not a city full of war memorials and statues remembering the past. Most memorials that are here are small plaques in obscure places that most tourist walk past without noticing. It is a city with a dark past which we feel it is trying to hide from rather than confront.
Munich, Bavaria, Germany dinoshona... landed between the southbound tram tracks. A local fellow was close to it and got some discarded newspapers from the trash, wrapped it up, and disposed of it in the trash can.
We took the 17 tram to Sandlinger Tor and got plently pictures of it. Back on the tram to our "Home Away From Home," the Hauptbahnhof, and went to the coin shop on the north side of the station where Richard purchased a Munich mint set of 2008 Euro coins. We went to the Coffee Fellows on the corner and got ...
... accurate depiction of what most of the concentration camps were constructed like. The symmetrical offices stood at the head of the camp. To the left and right were the entrances and exits for the camp. Directly in front of the main office was the roll call yard. Prisoners had to stand in tight ranks and files while roll was taken every morning and night. Sometimes they would be punished for hours and would have to stand at attention regardless of the weather. Behind the roll ...
Munich, Germany tbassplayer... only missing 2000 and 2005 due to us being on the road. So this year, is our tenth, so we did the only thing that was possible, we had commemorative shirts made, and did the usual drinking of many steins and eating loads of chicken and pork, singing, dancing and I even found the time to throw up !!! After the event, I ...
Munich, Germany uncle_davros... walk around. We ended up going to Olympic Park and enjoyed the grounds and panoramic tower views. We walked through some main squares, in and out of shops, and took pictures of the architecture. We made it back in time for coffee right next to the Glockenspiel Tower and saw the show at the top of the hour. Although we were checked out, the hostel was very accommodating and didn't mind if we hung out there. Chad and Cissy reclaimed their bean-bags; Brian and I ventured to the ...
Munich, Germany the_stamms... running out of the place at the end, when I had had enough. Emerging in Munich to World Cup fever again, the bustling streets and all the people sitting in sidewalk cafes gave me a very strange feeling. The rest of the afternoon I spent reading in the hostel, waiting for my train to Prague, which I caught, and am now here, after a very crowded train ride. As always, I hope everyone is doing well and please do email me, I want to hear what is going on with you!
Cheguei ...
