So i decided that i was going to leave for 1 day in another city. That city is Dachau only a couple of hours away from where i am now. I was staying at the Dachau hostel. First i checked into my hostel it was only 22,50 a night so i decided to stay there, They provide breakfast lunch and dinner, that hooked me in. After settling in i decided to look around, I found a tourist place where they give out maps. I decided to go to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial site. Dachau was the first Na...

... information about what happened along the route before and after the liberation by the allies. It’s interesting to note that this route goes right through the middle of the town of Dachau in plain site of the citizens.
Another sad tidbit of information is that the camp is right on the edge of town, not in the middle of nowhere, and was a former gunpowder (?) factory. Through the course of its evolution the camp ...

They were even sent home on weekends sometimes, to give them an opportunity to escape. They always came back. When led away to be shot, Jehovah's Witnesses would rejoice and wave their arms in victory, happy to join the martyrs. The Jehovah's Witnesses refused to cut their suffering short, as they saw such suffering as putting then ...

When we first got to Dachau, we saw the buildings where the SS soldiers were trained and housed. They were treated the same way that they were to treat prisoners, but they were allowed to leave, which showed that they were supposed to truly believe in what they were doing. We also saw the train tracks where the cattle cars full of prisoners were brought right up to the gates of Dachau. At the beginning of the tour, we looked out onto ...
... to fast for to long. Amazingly we
made in to Dachua not getting lost once ( I was in Aww myself!). So
we pulled in paid for parking and headed to the Dachau Concentration
camp. Luckly the memorial park was free to enter and the only thing
we paid for besides parking was the English hand held tour guide
which was very helpful. The site itself was only a faction of it
original but still put a heart dropping feeling at how many people
were there ...
... that too (this is my last day in Germany and it's half price), followed by one more juice to make me feel virtuous. I also have some final shopping to do - I have decided to buy some German underpants and socks (I have become the Imelda Marcos of underpants and socks and have about 30 pairs of each, some brought from Australia, but others bought in various countries while travelling) and a cardigan, plus I have to buy my train ticket to Bolzano in Italy, go back to the hotel and have a ...
Munich, Germany everardt... appreciation involves risk. There's very little risk in cutting something down, and the youth's insecurity leads them to do it regularly. I'm also a bit tired of hearing about money. I know that budget is a very real concern for some participants, but I truly don't care about how much this or that costs or what objects they can get cheaper in the States or how the euro compares to the dollar compares to the pound compares to ...
Munich, Germany tmarooch... version of Bye, Bye, Bye of course- it was cool) We drove around Munich for an hour looking at the sights. THen we went to an italian restaurant and got some lunch. We sat down eating lunch on Cori´s balcony when I received around 5 text messages from friends at home who were celebrating new years. Cori and I were so incredibly tired. I had a siesta and unfortunately Cori had to start work at 5. I was going to go out with one of her work friends for the ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany sarah.... and the toilets were ever so large with computer operated controls for everything. There was a normal toilet to sit on - which made for toileting so much more comfortable than squatting on Chinese trains. It was a most enjoyable training experience. I shared my 4 bed compartment with 3 older Germans who were ever so interested in me but I spent most of the time sleeping in what I thought was pure comfort. Interestingly, I researched what it ...

We found a stand-up table that had some room. There were 5 Scotsman at the table wearing kilts and kelly green t-shirts that read "Have You Got Your Tickets... to the Gun Show". We should have known we were in trouble. These were all college friends who had come together for a trip to Munich. One guy lived in Frankfurt, 1 in ...
