Our first port. Dolphins escorted us into the port past snow capped mountains. We took a trip to Nebuta village to see the lanterns decorated for their annual parade. Then off to the Hirosaki Castle, over 200 years old and surrounded by Castle Park and 2600 cherry blossom trees most of which were in bloom. What a sight ! In the afternoon we saw the Buddhist temples and the Seibi-en Japanese garden, which gave us more ideas for our own ...

Snow Road & Snowshoeing!

... but everything is encased in ice and wind whipped snow. The frosty covering on some items has almost a feather like look.

As I finished up my snowshoeing hike I headed home back down the snow road. ....but I was SO TIRED I ended up taking a nap in the car :o) That was one tough hike today! I'll sleep well ...
